Angelo Accardi's exhibition entitled Icarus' Dream, curated by Nino Florenzano at Palazzo Dona' dalle Rose, is a dive into the fabulous 80s, exploring the surreal world of the award-winning Italian artist in which dreams and reality blend together in a visual epic of colors, cultures and trends. The exhibition explores the contradictions of the contemporary world through a gymkhana that unfolds, between canvases and sculptures, in the suspended atmospheres of the seventeenth-century palace overlooking the Venice Lagoon, interacting with the visitor's gaze to return a shared imagination, in a mixture of criticism and nostalgia. Angelo Accardi (born in 1964) presents his tribute to that controversial decade, which saw materialistic utopias and hedonism become a true cult, with an exhibition that examines the contemporary tension between freedom and control, through different materials, thicknesses, consistencies and the gaze of an artist who, from the beginning, has analyzed the complexity of modern life through an overloaded and multilayered visual language.
