The exhibition entitled Eleonora Duse Contemporary Myth, curated by the Istituto per il Teatro e il Melodramma of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in the rooms on the first floor of Palazzo Cini in San Vio, is an invitation to get to know the fabulous world of Eleonora Duse up close. The event is part of the rich program of initiatives, research and events dedicated to the centenary of Duse's death, acting as the cornerstone of the celebrations coordinated by the National Committee established in March 2024 and financed by the Ministry of Culture. Clothes, objects, photographs, letters, coming from the largest archive of objects and documents belonging to the iconic Italian actress describe her revolutionary figure, as an actress of global fame and inspiring muse for the most important and refined personalities of the theater and culture of her era - from Stanislavskij to Meyerhold, from Gordon Craig to Isadora Duncan - capable of giving life throughout her career to a new model of theater artist and woman: aware, independent and constantly looking for new challenges.
