On the occasion of the 59th Edition of the International Art Biennale, by invitation of the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, the Franco-Vietnamese artist Huong Dodinh (born in 1945) exhibits his work at the Correr Museum, housed in the monumental Sala delle Quattro Porte, which during the last eight years has only hosted exhibitions of important contemporary female artists from all over the world. Ascension, the work installed among the works and artefacts resident in the Museum, dating back to the fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, invites visitors to embark on a sort of journey of inner initiation within fourteen vertical panels arranged in a sort of "magic circle" in which a mystical atmosphere hovers, making perceptible the emotional world of the artist lived in a self-imposed isolation spent creating unique, pure, spiritual and universal works, never shared with the public for five decades.
