All 21 rooms, recently refurbished and finely furnished with quality materials, recall the age-old Venetian ships. Staying at the Bucintoro will give you the chance of admiring a truly unique view: all the rooms overlook the San Marco Basin. The view is truly spectacular: it runs from San Marco to Palazzo Ducale and the Campanile to the Island of San Giorgio and the Punta della Dogana.
Each room has the name of a historic sail boat while the furniture and spaces are inspired by great sailboats. Elegant wood paneling, brass, appliqué with authentic nautical figures and lamps that seem to be oil burning: every detail was studied to evoke the charm of the ships of the past. The soul of the Hotel Bucintoro
We were inspired by the sea and the maritime lifeblood of Venice. We have dedicated each room to an elegant sailboat, creating rooms like the Officials quarters in the unforgettable sailboats in the novels of Cecil Scott Forester and Patrick O’Brien. We have provided the best comforts and selected the name of the Doge’s ceremonial boat for the Sea Wedding, the Bucintoro.
This is how Hotel Bucintoro was founded, giving Venice an elegant 4-star hotel inspired by Venice’s authentic maritime tradition. And with its location, on the Docks of San Marco, on a magnificent tract of land on the banks between the Arsenale, the Naval History Museum and the Morosini Military Naval School, it could not be otherwise.
A charming location
Hotel Bucintoro is on the banks of San Biagio, right near Piazza San Marco and the Biennale. All the hotel rooms have a magnificient view and, besides offering an enchanting panorama, its splendid location is also perfect to visit the entire historic center of Venice.
Piazza San Marco is just a few minutes walk from Hotel Bucintoro; the Biennale Gardens are also just a few minutes away while the Arsenale and Naval Museum are respectively 100 and 20 meters from the hotel. The Rialto, Gallerie dell’Accademia, the Peggy Guggenehim Collection and the Lido of Venice, the home of the Film Festival, can be easily reached with the water buses that stop at the Arsenale stop. In addition to tourist sites, Hotel Bucintoro has the privilege of being right near Castello, the most authetic district in Venice, which is still full of small neighborhood shops, caffes and typical bacari (Venetian osterias).
How to reach us
By plane - from the Marco Polo Venice airport
By Water. Take a water taxi leaving from the airport docks to arrive directly at the hotel in a little less than an hour or take the Alilaguna blue line motorboat that leaves from the docks and get off at the Arsenale stop. Hotel Bucintoro is only 150 meters from the stop.
By Land. Bus shuttle: take the shuttle bus to Venice and get off in Piazzale Roma (the bus and car terminal). From here, continue with a water taxi that will take you to Hotel Bucintoro or you can take public water shuttle (ACTV) line 1 via the Grand Canal or line 4.1 via Canale della Giudecca, which both stop 150 meters from the hotel.
By plane - from the Treviso Canova Airport
Take the shuttle bus to Venice and get off at the terminus, Piazzale Roma (the bus and car terminal). From here continue as above.
By train
Take ACTV water shuttle, line 1, direction San Marco/Lido, or line 41, direction Giudecca, and get off at the Aresenale stop. Hotel Bucintoro is only 150 meters to the right of the stop.
By car
Park your car in one of the garages in Piazzale Roma (the bus and car terminal) or Tronchetto (the island is to the right at the end of the Libertà bridge). From Piazzale Roma, take water shuttle ACTV, line 1, direction San Marco/Lido (about a 45 minute trip), or line 41, direction Giudecca (about a 30 minute trip). From Tronchetto, take line 2, direction Giudecca. Get off at the San Zaccaria stop to transfer to line 41. In either case, get off at the Arsenale stop. Hotel Bucintoro is only 150 meters to the right of the stop.

The Hotel Bucintoro is located 150 meters away from the Arsenale stop, where the ACTV waterbus lines 1, 4.1 and 4.2 stop, as well as the blue Alilaguna line that connects Venice to Marco Polo Airport.
